Dedicated to saving horses and other animals while also fostering kindness and compassion within our community.
Here at Holy Spirit Farm, we're more than the bad puns we like to use. We have dedicated ourselves to saving horses while also aiding our fellow humans and other animals.
Horse homelessness is a chronic issue that is perpetuated by the stigma of rescue horses being less than, combined with the stigmas surrounding relinquishment. It is our goal to change all of that. Not only are rescue horses athletes and amazing companions, but there is nothing wrong with releasing your horse to a facility that will be able to continue .the care that animal needs. These concepts extend to the animal and rescue world We were initially founded with hope of saving as many horses as we possibly could, but we wanted to do more. Slowly, we extended our reach beyond just that of the equine world, and started helping all animals. This is where you come in now. We need your help to find horses the right homes and to help generate the same enthusiasm about farm animals as small-animal adoption. You can do this by adopting, sharing our posts via social media, and donating. To read more about our story and our founding, scroll down below. |

Our Founding
At Holy Spirit Farm, we are driven by a single goal; to enhance the lives of both people and horses.
Before being officially founded as a 501 c-3 non-profit in 2017 by Deana and Todd Reedy, "the barn" acted as a small place of refuge for "unwanted" or sick horses, with some lessons being offered. But, before we knew it, we began to grow, and grow, and grow. Our reputation in the area quickly outgrew our facility size, as vets and individuals began reaching out to us, asking for help with horses and ponies. We saw an increase in the number of off-track thoroughbreds, began working with humane societies, and became a sanctuary for elderly horses, and horses with genetic/chronic conditions. The lesson program began to grow, as did our clientele for them; we now not only began offering regular lesson services, but lessons and rides to those with special needs or past trauma. Schools, girl and boy scout units, and universities were reaching out to us regarding programs we offered for community service, field trips, and even fundraising. |
It was time to do something. After all, it seemed that we were filling a niche that no one else was caring for both the needs of horses and the community.
Fast forward to 2015 - Deana saw the demand and the chance we had to positively impact the lives of so many people and animals. She decided to upgrade from the 2 stall structure we had 13 horses out of, and build not one, but two other stables. A riding ring was added and Holy Spirit Farm was ready to be opened to the public. We now offer equine refuge, lessons, day camps, fun shows, birthday parties, pony rides (that can travel), and wagon rides, in addition to school and volunteer programs, educational field trips, and services for those who have previously experienced trauma or difficulties. We strive to find perfect homes for the horses that and ponies that are able to move on from our farm, and those that are available can be found under the adoption page. On-farm lease programs are available as well, in addition to possible board. For more information, please visit the designated pages to learn more about our programs. |
