Notice: We are Currently at capacity and are unable to take surrenders.
At Holy Spirit Farm, we understand that a wide variety of circumstances can often make horse ownership difficult and we try to help. If you are experiencing a rough go of things, know someone who is, or are no longer able to care for the equine(s) currently in your care, please reach out to us. We do regularly work with vets and are equipped to handle a wide range of cases. If you are struggling to place your horse because of it's body condition, genetic condition, or other ailment, we can help.
To surrender a horse to our rescue, please contact the barn directly. We are now asking that if you can, to make a donation on behalf of the horse when you surrender to us. If you are unable to do this, don't worry. We'll still help you; the care is just as expensive as it was for you (often times more so). To learn more about the process, scroll down to the next section.
If you know of a horse that needs to be rescued, please contact us or your local humane society.

How it works
We do request surrender fees. fees are determined by circumstance, but will never exceed $450.
Owner surrender can occur for a variety of reasons, of which all are unique circumstances. After determining which path we are going to take with your horse (coming to the farm, going to a foster, or being immediately rehomed to a vetted adopter), we work with our veterinarian to ensure that the horse that is surrendered, is up to the health standards that we maintain across the board.
More often than not, owners surrendering because of their age or health, or a drastic and sudden change in finances, still wish to occasionally visit the horse they are surrendering. Unless it is a government seizure or a situation of neglect, we do offer this to the owners of surrendered horses. All times must be planned in advance, as the property is private.
There is always the possibility that the horses and ponies surrendered to our farm will be rehomed. IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THIS IDEA, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US. While most horses become residents, healthy and trained individuals can go up for adoption. This decision is to be made by HOLY SPIRIT FARM officials/veterinarians/trainers. No outside influence or comments will be taken into account.
